Rules for Maycee's Room

Yesterday, I was in the car with Maycee. She was in the back playing her DS and kinda talking to her baby doll. She told me she had rules for her room and did I want to hear them. Sure I did! This is what she told me...

Maycee's Rules for her Room--
1) If you are bleeding go get a tissue.
2) If you are gonna throw up go see my Mom.
3) If you take a toy out you have to put it up.

Now you may think she must have had problems with these things in the past. Well maybe number 3, but she has never had (to my knowledge) someone bleed or throw up in her room.

She is so silly. I don't know where she gets this stuff? :) What goes through her little mind?

A Quick Trip

This weekend Maddie, Maycee and I went to Austin for my cousin Danielle's bachlorette party. It was at my Aunt and Uncle's house and was for the whole weekend. I couldn't stay the whole weekend to go and enjoy the lake with them, but I did go up on Friday for the lingerie shower.

Me and the girls stayed with my cousin Wendy and her husband Jason. They recently move to Austin and we are very excited to have them so close now. They have kids that Maddie and Maycee couldn't wait to go and play with. They were so excited to see Taylor, Madison, and Bryce.

Jason was so nice to keep all the kids while Wendy and I went to the party. He said they were very good, and that they all played great together. I sure hope he was telling the truth :-) They had a great time with him. He grilled burgers for them and made banana splits with them.

Taylor and Maycee. When we came home from the party we went to check on them in bed. Maycee and Taylor were sleeping in the top bunk and Maycee was snuggled up right next to Taylor. It was sooo sweet. Taylor even told Wendy in the morning that Maycee had put her arm around her in the night.

Maddie and Maddie. Actually I'm not sure how Madison spells Maddie, but I'll have to find out. It gets kinda confusing because they both go by Maddie. They both love American Girls and they played lots of babies while we were there. They played so good together.

They dressed up and had a fashion show for us. Wendy even let the girls take home some princess costumes and a Tinkerbell costume to borrow. Actually we came home with both of the costumes that Maddie and Maycee are wearing in this picture. We are going to use them when we go to Disney. I'm so excited because none of our princess costumes fit Maddie anymore and they had a Cinderella costume and Aurora costume to fit her so we won't have to buy one for either breakfast. Maycee wants to wear Tinkerbell for Halloween and to Disney. (Thank you so much Wendy!! They will get lots of use and we will take good care of them. They already had a fashion show for Guy.)

They also put on a karaoke show for us. You can't tell in the picture but Taylor and Maycee are playing the keyboard.

On the way home, Maddie wanted to know why we couldn't stay longer. I told her we had to finish getting ready for school and that I still had hairbows to make for some of her new outfits. The conversation continued like this....

Maddie: Starting Sept 1st I'm not wearing bows anymore.

Me: Really?

Maddie: Yeah! I made a decision.

Me: You are still gonna wear bows. They are cute. Your friends wear them. And I like them.

Maddie: (with a little attitude) What are you, an animal? (followed by a little pouting)

Well...I'm not sure what that meant, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't meant to be nice. LOL!

I sure hope she doesn't push this no bow issue because it will make me very sad. I'm not ready for her to grow up. I probably shouldn't have given her the whole I'm the Mom that's why type line, but I wasn't prepared for the thought of no bow. I'm counting on bows at least through First Grade. Lot's of her friends still wear them. The bright side is at least she had the courtesy to give me a 1 week notice :-)

Six Flags

Yesterday we took these two little daredevils back to Six Flags. Guy took off work early so that we could go in the afternoon. We got an awesome deal on season tickets this year. (Thanks Hillari!!) so we've been a couple of times this year and the girls really like the rides.

The teacups. They love to spin as fast as possible. Even when I get it going as fast as I possibly can they still yell "Faster! Faster!"

It's really funny because I've bought them LOTS of very cute sunglasses through the years and it seems like they are always either lost or they aren't comfortable on them or they just don't like them, but these glasses that I really don't like (and wish would get lost) have stayed around the whole summer : ) And you know what else? She wore them almost the whole time we were at Six Flags.
As a matter of fact, Maycee lost these normal looking sunglasses at one point. We did find them though, she left them on a ride and they were still there when we went back.

We all four rode this roller coaster. Tony Hawk's Big Spin. They love it, but somebody has to go up the big part backwards. Nobody ever wants to, but today Maycee did so she enjoyed being the Brave sister and even more enjoyed letting Maddie know that she was the Chicken Sister. Which led to the incessent singing of there new "How Funky is Your Chicken" cheer. Good news is Maddie was totally owning being the Chicken Sister for the day because she was just happy that she didn't go up backwards.

Waiting in Line. This is what the lines were like on all the rides. Wait for he current ride to finish and then stay on the ride over and over (and over and over) until you couldn't take anymore (or until your parents couldn't take anymore).

The goofiest bumper cars that they Always want to ride and they Always get stuck agains the wall on. You have to turn the steering wheel to back up and all the kids always have a hard time with it and they end up in a traffic jam like this.

I didn't go to practice with the girls yesterday. I've been sick and Carrie offered to take them with her so I wouldn't have to sit out in the heat. (THANKS CARRIE)

Anyway, apparently they learned a new chant and they love it. They were wearig Guy and I out when they got home yesterday and started back up as soon as they woke up this morning. It's even stuck in my head now.

While I was cooking dinner tonight I got this video of them. Ignore the wardrobe they just got out of they bath :)

Weather Girl

Maddie has always been our little meteorologist. She is always awake when there are storms and always watching the weather and listening to weather reports even when we aren't paying attention. Sometimes she'll surprise me by repeating that there was a thunderstorm warning in some random town that I've never heard of and when asked how she knows she heard it on the radio or something. It's really strange. Neither Guy or I are weather watchers so now we have Maddie to watch out for us.



Last night the weather here got pretty bad. Maddie came and got in our bed sometime early this morning to tell me that the weather was scaring her. I hadn't even realized it was raining before she woke me. I started listening to the weather man and sure enough there were some tornado warnings in the Dallas area. I watched for a while and then told Maddie it looked like everything was okay and I was going back to sleep. She said "Okay, don't worry! I'll wake you up if there is a Tornado Warning in Little Elm." LOL . I tried to tell her to go to sleep, but she wasn't having it. I woke up an hour or so later and she was sleeping. When I got up this morning if found this......






Apparently while I was sleeping she prepared the house in case we had a tornado. I'm not sure what the camera was for. I guess she was going to document the tornado so we could blog about it. :0)

Branson, Missouri

This weekend Guy had a Manager's Meeting in Branson. They have them twice a year, but for the June one they always meet in Branson and invite all the families. It is a nice little inexpensive getaway since they pay for our gas, condo, 2 meals and a show.

This year we left on Friday morning and headed out for a 8 hour drive. I brought lots of things for the girls to do...workbooks, colors, coloring books, a TV that Carrie and Jeff were nice enough to let us borrow, Leapsters, Nintendo DS, and baby dolls. After 4 hours and no naps they were totally done with everything and ready to get out of the car. So the last 3.5 hours were very stressful, but I was thankful for Guy's refusal to stop for a break when we arrived in Branson half an hour early. The girls never did sleep and it was really hard for me to follow through with my punishment the day before of taking away their beloved MP3 players for a day. (I will never use those lifesavers as a punishment the day before a trip again. It was much more of a punishment for me and Guy than it was for them.)

We were heading home on Sunday morning, so we started having fun right away. What better way to start having fun than to start shopping. We headed to Branson Landing. It makes us all happy. Clothing stores for me, Bass Pro for Guy, a playground and Disney store for the girls, and a very cool Water/Fountain show for all of us.

The girls picked out these goofy sunglasses from the disney store. Thank goodness they were only $2 a pair. They don't look too bad on Maddie just a little big, but Maycee looked like a bug and wouldn't you know it for the first time ever they wanted to wear those darn glasses every second of every day. Thankfully I haven't seen them since we've been home.

It was very hot compared to what it was last year. Last time we were there it was in the 80's the whole time, but when we arrived on Friday it was 100. No cooler than what we left here. Since we were all hot and tired we headed to the Condo to check in and change into swimsuits. We decided to spend the rest of the afternoon at the pool and then order in Pizza.

After we were done at the pool we headed back to the condo for pizza. The condo was wonderful. The girls were dying to try out the jacuzzi tub. They had a great time in it. They even figured out that if they closed the shower doors they could splash all they wanted and not make a mess on the floor. That really tickled them and they must have spent an hour and a half in there.

On Saturday, we had to be at the clubhouse at 8am for a Breakfast and meeting with the owner of the company Guy works for. This is the worst part of the trip for me. They always have a benefits presentation before releasing the spouses and children. It is very hard to make the girls understand that they need to be silent as Guy's boss is talking to us. This time I took their DS and MP3 players with us. I was very worried that they would start singing out loud to the MP3's during the meeting since they don't seem to understand that we can hear them even though they can't hear us so I had a very detailed conversation about singing in their heads. Apparently I was worried about the wrong electronic because I didn't' think about the fact that they had never played DS with headphones and when Maycee finally found the last puzzle piece in the Pony game she got so excited to tell me that she yelled out "Mom I finally found it, I finally found it! and looked at me with the biggest, proudest smile." Everyone was chuckling except me and Guy :) I guess it could have been worse she could have been singing "Little ole Wine Drinker Me" at the top of her lungs which she knows every word to and is in her MP3 player.

Easter

The eggs. The girls had a great time dying eggs this year. Here are their masterpieces.

The Easter Bunny came to our house even though I threatened to leave a note on the door telling him he couldn't stop at our house when they weren't listening to me earlier in the day. They later told me that they had told Ashley what I said and she told them not to worry that she would leave a note for him at her house telling him that it was okay to leave them something. HaHa....Thanks Sis!
It didn't take long to start the traditional candy for breakfast on Easter routine.

This is the note that Maddie left out for the Easter Bunny. It is supposed to say..."How do you get here? By Maddie" Maycee left him a picture, but it is all in yellow crayon and didn't photograph well.
