Easter

The eggs. The girls had a great time dying eggs this year. Here are their masterpieces.

The Easter Bunny came to our house even though I threatened to leave a note on the door telling him he couldn't stop at our house when they weren't listening to me earlier in the day. They later told me that they had told Ashley what I said and she told them not to worry that she would leave a note for him at her house telling him that it was okay to leave them something. HaHa....Thanks Sis!
It didn't take long to start the traditional candy for breakfast on Easter routine.

This is the note that Maddie left out for the Easter Bunny. It is supposed to say..."How do you get here? By Maddie" Maycee left him a picture, but it is all in yellow crayon and didn't photograph well.

The cousins on Easter.

The Easter Egg hunt at Nana and Papa's house. It was Maycee's third one and Maddie's fourth and they were still just as excited as the first one.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU............

This is April's Mom and I have kidnapped April's blog. After this post I'm pretty sure she will change her blog password and I will be banished from ever posting again. Ahem...... that is probably what is going to happen.......but we will enjoy this moment while we have it!

April was born on April the 8th, which happen to be Good Friday that year. Oh what a Good Friday it was. Weighing in at 11 lbs 3 oz and 21 inches long........ahem..... you read that right. April was the joy of our life. We couldn't have been more proud. Since April was our first child we didn't even think her weight was that big of a deal......I mean don't all babies weigh 11 lbs at birth? April was the star of the hospital nursery and everyone wanted to see this 11 lb wonder. This was back in the day when babies stayed in the nursery and behind a glass panel and no one but parents got to hold the baby until she left the hospital. OK..... I am telling my age at this point.....

April blessed our life in ways I cannot even begin to describe. A true Blessing from God. April was the first grandchild on my side of the family, so to say she was not spoiled would be a stretch of the truth. Although April may have been spoiled, she was actually a very easy baby and grew into a loving and caring child. One of April's greatest traits is her loyalty and honor for family, so it came as no surprise when her younger sister's joined the family and April became the "BEST" big sister Ashley and Kaleigh could have ever asked for. This is a role she has continued to honor and gives me as a mother great comfort knowing that April will always be available for her sister's. April LOVES her family with a passion!

April I'm very proud to call you my daughter, I am also very proud of the woman you have turned out to be. It is hard to believe that 32 years ago today, at 2:12pm, you entered this world and forever changed my life....... Having you as a daughter has made me the woman I am and I thank you for that! Your smile, your laugh and your keen sense of humor are some of the many qualities you have and I admire you in so many ways words cannot began to express them! You are a great mother, wife and friend to everyone and have such a zest for life. I admire your creative side and still say "you didn't get that from me".......ahem........ I admit...... I did not teach you to sew. You had to have gotten that from your GranGran!!!!

Happy Birthday baby......you know you will always be your mother's baby no matter how old you are!

All my LOVE.......

Mom

94th Birthday Party

On the 21st we went to Larry's French Market for Guy's Great Grandmother's 94th birthday party. I think everyone had a great time. There was a live band, good food and lots of dancing.

Maddie and Maycee with their Great-Great Grandmother (the birthday girl)

Me, Guy and the Girls had crawfish for dinner that night. They were very good and it was nice because both the girls know how to peel their own crawfish now. Maycee needed a little refresher course though because the first one she tried to peel, she pulled off the tail and then took a bite of the head side where the tail connects at. GROSS! LOL!

Softball Practice

On Thursday, Maddie had her first softball practice. She said she likes it. I guess we'll see if she stays interested. I hope she does.

Maddie is in the pink catching the ball

Throwing
Doing what she does best in sports. Playing in the dirt.

When Maddie played t-ball when she was three she was the only girl on her team. They didn't really play positions they just put them all out on the field when the other team was batting. She was between the pitchers mound and first base when I heard her coach, who didn't seem to enjoy having a girl on his team even though it was supposed to be a coed league, shouted "There's no angels in baseball!" I looked out and Maddie was laying in the dirt making 'Snow' Angels in the dirt.

So...I guess we will call this season a success if she doesn't make any 'snow' angels in the middle of a game. :}
